Students have been attending Sir Richard McBride Elementary in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood of Vancouver for over a century. In the 2016/2017 school year, we were home to over 280 students in 15 classes. McBride was seismically upgraded in the 1990s and renovations are underway to make the school wheelchair accessible.

The McBride Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) meets monthly and we encourage all parents of McBride students to attend our meetings, where childcare is provided.

McBride prides itself on its music education program, offered to all students from kindergarten to Grade 7, and our school concerts are a key part of McBride culture. McBride students also have the opportunity to participate in sports like basketball and track and field. McBride also fosters a learning environment that promotes health, caring and good citizenship in our community. The McBride PAC works closely with school staff to help them achieve their goals. We hold social events and other fundraising opportunities, and have assisted the school to buy needed technology, and to fund activities like a hip-hop dance program, swimming, Grade 6 camps, and much more!
